APRIL, WHAT A MONTH THAT WAS!!

Well the season has kicked off with a bang! It felt like a sprint into the summer months marathon with all the ‘go go go’ throughout April.

It all started off with the Rugby Legends Dinner for the utterly fantastic Hospitality Action. Set in the beautiful estate at Deers Park Hotel in Devon Jude and a whole host of big name chefs joined forces for the Rugby Legends Dinner which raised a staggering £40k for the charity!

Our very own super chef, and huge ruggers fan, Jude shared the kitchen with Nathan Outlaw, Paul Ainsworth, Josh Eggleton, Guy Owen, Dom Chapman and Michael Wignall. What a line-up!  You can just imagine the cross workspace banter busting around the kitchen.

Porthleven Food Festival was absolutely incredible this year and as close to our hearts as it is to our doorstep.  This has to have been the biggest one yet with over £30k visitors to Porthleven over the 3 day festival.  Music, stalls, crafts, events and comedians (including Jude and AWT) rocked the harbour with the finest array of food centric treats you could ever imagine.   Jude and Antony Worrall Thompson started off the cooking demonstrations in the chefs arena with their annual good natured cook-off competition. 14 dishes in 45 minutes! Hosted by festival regular Daphne Skinnard, who also refereed  the competition as well as joining in with the light banter bouncing between the two old friends. Always a popular start to the Saturday the cook off definitely entertained the packed out crowd.
Ps. Jude won again! Good luck next year AWT.

Finally St Ives Food Festival bustled in the first few weeks of May, another scorcher of a weekend with crowds a plenty and Jude whipping up a storm on the stage with a cooking demonstration.  He says he hates these appearances….we’re not so sure that’s true considering how casual he is on stage.
