New News from New Zealand

We’ve heard from the mighty travellers on their annual trip to Jude’s native New Zealand.

Jane and Jude have sent across some photos of their recent trip to the Martinborough Vineyards, where they spent the day wine tasting and basking in the sun.  I have to say I am so envious!

Views over the vineyard….just think of all the wine to be tried in the future…

It looks like they made a real day of it, hiring bikes and touring around the vineyards in style.

Jude looks steady-ish now, but the word through the grapevine (haha) is that things got a little wobbly on the ride back to the start.

Being the dedicated wine lovers that they are Jane and Jude made sure to taste the best wines they could, including a great Te Tera Pinot Noir.

We have been reliably informed that a favourite was the vineyard at Schubert, where J & J tried out a delicious red called Con Brie, blend of Syrah, merlot and Cabernet Sauvignon.
Atarangi vineyard offered up a selection of great reds and chardonnays.

A wonderful selection of Pinot Noir and Chardonnay were tried and tested at the vineyard at Te Kairanga.

A great selection of Rose, along with some interesting reds and a gruner veltliner could be found at Margrain.

Jane and Jude hopped back on their bikes to slowly cycle to Poppies where they shared this incredible looking Antipasto platter and  a lovely rose.

After an impressive tour de vino Jane and Jude finished off with beer tasting at Martinborough Brewery, where the delicious beers, completed their day out.  Jude’s favourite being the Hop Elixir.

And just look at the sunset to finish the day off.  I can’t wait to see which of these wines makes an appearance at Kota in 2017.
