After months of waiting it was finally our turn last night to have all three South West Chefs from BBC2’s Great British Menu join us for an extravagant evening of delicious food and a wonderful array of beverages. Josh Eggleton and Chris Wheeler came to invade the Kota Kai kitchen with Jude to host the event. What a night!
With a wine flight chosen to complement each dish, incredible gin from Trevethan Gin to bounce our guests along, an Apple Brandy from Healeys Cyder Farm as a beautiful digestif and coffee from local java wonders Origin to end the meal, guests were seriously treated to a wide range with something for everyone.
The menu delivered by smiling waitresses consisting of six courses – two by each chef – one from their Great British Menu appearance and one signature dish. Dotted through out the menu were extra treats such as canapés and petit fours as well as the accompanying drinks.
A great night was had by all! The camaraderie between the chefs in the kitchen was obvious to all and really added to the atmosphere in Kota Kai. Their smiles and chatter were infectious – but more importantly the dishes they brought out were simply delicious and presented like art on a plate. Check out some of the snaps from last night…
